Ted Wilson’s Silence, by Nic Samojluk

Ted Wilson in Redlands

Below is a copy of some comments I received from a concerned pro-life reader of this forum followed by my response:

“All of our Adventist churches should be made aware of what I happening. It is shocking and makes me very sad. I personally feel that if your letters are not being answered that there must be something to hide. Lets make people aware and put an end to this.”

Try this: Write to Ted Wilson asking for an explanation why we Adventists are neutral on the murder of the unborn. Your letter will be either ignored, or else you will receive the following answer: “Read our ‘Guidelines on Abortion.’”

Well, those guidelines were invented by fallible men, and were designed to void the Sixth Commandment which forbids murder. They are based on tradition instead of a “Thus says the Lord.”

Compare this with the answer we get when someone asks our leaders why we worship God on the Seventh Day of the Week. The answer is “Read Exodus 20.” Why can’t we give the same answer to the abortion question?

Should we resort to tradition when answering a doctrinal question? Compare God’s dictum–“You shall not murder”—with the 1314 words we used in order to justify what the Lord has forbidden: the shedding of innocent blood.

We must repent of this great sin!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” [2 Chron. 7:14]
