Who Needs Karate Lessons When Grocery Cans Are Available?

Edith Greenley, a Loma Linda resident, has provided ample evidence that you don’t need Karate lessons if grocery cans are in your shopping bag. The fact that she is a centenarian did not deter her from defending herself when she was accosted by Ed Sutherland, a would be mugger aged 23 in the parking lot of the Loma Linda Market and demanded her purse. …

Indian Natives Thanksgiving

The Indian’s Thanksgiving: Squanto and the Providence of God, by John Stonestreet

Most of us know the story of the first Thanksgiving; at least we know the Pilgrim version. But how many of us know the Indian viewpoint?
No, I’m not talking about some revisionist, politically correct version of history. I’m talking about the amazing story of the way God used an Indian named Squanto as a special instrument of His providence. …

Taxi Cab

The Cab Ride I’ll Never Forget, by Kent Nerburn

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. One time I arrived in the middle of the night for a pick up at a building that was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, then drive away. But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. …

Dare Devils in Action

As I watch this video, I thank God that my children and grand children avoided the temptation to engage in this kind of Dare Devil sports.

A Salute to Our Troops

This is a salute to all military active and retired. Thank you for your services worldwide. You are not forgotten! And lets not forget their spouses whose job was just as hard when their love ones are forward deployed overseas 6, 8, 12 months at a time.

I want to thank Staged.com for allowing me to share the above video from Justin Flom with you. I had no idea I would get such a response and great comments.

Sandy Hook School

School Shootings List

This is very interesting.  It’s a HUGE list of school shootings in the U.S.   Click on any particular “School Shooting” to see the source and its link.  It’s remarkable how many young people are on these psychotropic drugs.   It’s like “Mind Candy” but with disastrous results.

It’s a little easier to understand when you can see it in a list……Rx drugs….. not guns….. (Oh, I’m sorry…. Okay… It was the gun’s fault….) …

Garbage problem solved in Sweden

Sweden Has Answer to America’s Garbage Problem

“No, I am not referring to Capitol Hill, but rather to the hills of garbage and trash that are mounding up in landfills across our nation.

Let’s face it, we Americans produce a great deal of garbage and waste and there will come a time in the very near future when we no longer have a place to put it.  Perhaps we need to take a lesson from the Swedes. …”

Voting Counts

Election Results? Blame the People!

“Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the ‘new, wonderful, good society’ which shall now be Rome’s, interpreted to mean: more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious.” — Marcus Tullius Cicero

Wise Sayings

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.4. If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.5. Veteran retirement compensation: Is it fair?

Can someone explain why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay on retirement. While Politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full-pay retirement after serving one term. Does this make sense to you?.

Here is a solution for this inequity: A 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution declaring the following:

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States.”

If you agree with such a law, then write to your senator and congressman, and to your friends asking them to spread the word.

Delta Flight 15

This is a moving first-hand account of a Delta airlines flight attendant on board Delta Flight 15, which was diverted to Gander, Newfoundland on September 11, 2001.

“On the morning of Tuesday, September 11, we were about 5 hours out of Frankfurt, flying over the North Atlantic. All of a sudden the curtains parted and I was told to go to the cockpit, immediately, to see the captain. As soon as I got there I noticed that the crew had that “All Business” look on their faces. The captain handed me a printed message. It was from Delta’s main office in Atlanta and simply read, “All airways over the Continental United States are closed to commercial air traffic. Land ASAP at the nearest airport. Advise your destination.” …

STEVEN WRIGHT QUOTES

If you’re not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he’s the famous erudite scientist who once said: “I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates.” His mind sees things differently from most of us, to our amazement and amusement. Here are some of his gems:

1 – I’d kill for a Nobel Peace Prize. …
