Runaway Horse

How a Runaway Horse Led me Home

During a painful spiritual struggle, I reluctantly made my way to a conference I had been invited to attend as a guest speaker.

Frankly, I didn’t want to participate, because I felt unworthy to speak to the group of Christian professionals. But something compelled me to go anyway, and I’m glad I did. I met a professional horse jockey-turned-pastor named Pavel, and he told me three stories in rapid succession. …

Sandpiper

The Sandpiper, by Robert Peterson

She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live.
I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world
Begins to close in on me. She was building a sand castle or something
And looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea.

‘Hello,’ she said.

I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child.

‘I’m building,’ she said. …

Miraclees are real

Miraculous Heart Healing

“Ujjal is a young man, but a hole in his heart had left him chronically tired and subject to fainting spells. He couldn’t work or even ride his bicycle.

One day Ujjal’s friend Panalal told him that he was learning about Jesus, the powerful and loving God whom Christians worship. Panalal invited Ujjal to a meeting in his home. Ujjal went, hoping that the God of the Christians would heal him. He listened intently as Gopal, the Global Mission pioneer, explained that God forgives our sins if we believe and ask Him. …”

Incredible Forgiveness Attitude by an Aurora Victim

“AURORA, Colorado, 13 August, 12 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In the midst of the darkness and chaos of the Aurora theatre shooting last month, one eighteen-year-old woman lay on the ground, her knee completely shattered by a stray bullet from the gun of the shooting’s sole suspect, James Holmes. While bullets continued to fall around her, Bonnie Kate Pourciau prayed desperately for her life to be spared. Ultimately the young woman’s prayer was heard, and she escaped with her life. However, she has since undergone numerous reconstructive surgeries that have left her bedridden, in excruciating pain. …”

Baby Jesus Gets a Broken Toy Truck for Christmas.

Once upon a time there was a boy living in a remote village in a foreign country where poverty was so prevalent that even policemen went barefooted, and so did children from poor families. Little Daniel’s father was having a hard time providing for his wife and child, for which reason he decided to cross the border to a neighboring country with the hope of securing employment. He promised his wife that he would send her money as soon as possible. Time went by, and a month later the woman received the bad news that her husband had been involved in an accident and was in a government hospital recovering from his injuries. More: ===>

Our Great Healer

. Three-year-old Jenny never missed the morning and evening worships in our village. So when she didn’t attend one morning, I missed her. “Where is Jenny?” I asked

“She’s sick, teacher!” one boy answered.

After worship I went to check on Jenny and found her lying in her family’s one-room house, writhing with pain. I prayed for her and mixed some simple herbal medicine for her. Soon Jenny fell asleep. More: ===>

Chrislam: A Bridge Between Christianity & Islam.

Only a few of the teenagers attend the little mission school on our island in southernPhilippines. Most are embarrassed because they can’t read or write and don’t want to be teased by their younger siblings who attend the mission school. So these teenage boys spend their time diving in the coral reefs and catching fish. They keep us supplied with fresh fish every day.We teachers wanted to reach these young men, but we were not sure how. Finally we decided to try to engage them through sports. More: ===>

Showers of Blessing!

Some years ago as we were singing the well-known hymn Showers of Blessings with the large congregation at the Loma Linda University Church all of a sudden my mind went back to another occasion thirty years before:

We were visiting my parents who lived in the city of Riverside at that time. It was a terribly hot day, and it had not rained in a very long time. My parents did not have air conditioning in their home, and we were perspiring heavily due to the unusual hot season. More: ===>
